The senior high, junior high, Pleasant View elementary school, and the Education Center were placed on lockdown on Tuesday, Dec. 13 around 12:05 p.m. according to a statement by Red Lion Area School District Superintendent Eric Wilson.
At 11:40 a.m. that morning, 19-year-old Xavier Winemiller of Red Lion had pointed the gun at someone in the area of West Broadway and North Main streets in Red Lion, Pennsylvania state police explained in the release.
BB guns are "potentially lethal" and a man in Pennsylvania died after being shot by a BB gun earlier this month.
He was soon tracked down by the police and arrested. He was found with the BB gun, methamphetamine, and marijuana, according to the release.
The Pennsylvania State Police gave the "all-clear" at 12:53 p.m.
He was charged with three misdemeanors for drug use and possession and two summary offenses for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness or similar behavior, according to his court docket.
Winemiller was denied bail as he is a "danger to himself and others" Magisterial District Judge John Fishel states in the court documents.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Judge Fishel on Jan. 16 at 9 a.m., his latest court docket details.
He previously pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in April 2021, and that sentence of fine and time served which was completed in June 2022, according to court records.
